I’ve been waiting for Daire’s book for a while so I was excited, I just love this series so much.
I was not Daire’s biggest fan from the beginning especially since Rosie was doing him a favor and he treated her so insignificantly.
Rosie was so sweet, caring and mature but with a sassy take no bullshit attitude.
I enjoyed watching them rekindle their friendship and they really did make a great team together and did what needed to be done to try and help Daire getting custody of his son.
Single dad is one of my favorite tropes so when he find’s out he has a son he never knew about and does everything in his power (getting married to his childhood ex-best friend he now hates) to be part of his son’s life... Definitely upped his SWOON factor for me.

Rosie & Daire were best friends when they were little, a major fallout in their teens made them best enemies. Now seniors in college, Daire needs a wife and unfortunately Rosie would work the best since they already know so much about each other. Daire recently learned he has a baby son so he thinks being married will make him seem more mature and settled so that he can get some kind of custody of his son.
The number one rule Daire has made is that there will be no falling in love. They both hate each other immensely so it shouldn't be a problem. But of course rules are made to be broken.
I liked the story. Rosie & Daire are both likeable characters. They're definitely easy to root for.
I like that two of their friends have a set up leading to their story next. Also two likeable characters that will make for a great story.

I really enjoyed this book; it’s well written, great characters and has all the best tropes:
- Accidental pregnancy
- Hate to love
- Childhood friends
- Big family
- Marriage of Convenience
Daire and Rosie have my heart.
Daire is your classic player at the beginning of this story but life has come at him fast and instead of running away he decides to step up and do the right thing.
Rosie is mature, smart and will do anything for anyone.
I love the pair of them together, they both deserve the world and they find it in each other.
You see two young people having to grow up very fast and finding their way together.
The chemistry between these two is sizzling and I loved reading the growing feelings between them
I devoured this book in one night - could not put it down and absolutely loved it

Thank you to Valentine PR for the e-ARC.
I have only read one other book in this series and was able to understand everything that was going on in this book fully. It is a standalone series, where you probably appreciate some of the side characters more if you know them but it is not necessary to read the previous books.
Rosie and Daire were a second-chance couple with a marriage of convenience. This marriage of convenience was perfect because they were childhood best friends, so they knew much about each other already. It made the awkward getting-to-know-you portion of marriage of convenience nonexistent. They were able to jump right into being a couple and having people outright believe them since they had that understanding of each other. Additionally, the romance was able to get real quickly.
The only complication was that the marriage of convenience was for Daire to get custody of some sort for his son, and he was successful in becoming a father. You had to see Daire step into a father position and Rosie had to figure out what relationship she wanted with the child as well. I thought this aspect of the relationship was done well and Rosie is a queen.
The college aspect of the book was fun and definitely made the tropes unique.
I think the following quote sums up their chemistry pretty nicely.
“Rosie, when a man tells you to ride his face, you ride his goddamn face, you hear me?”
Rosie Thomas and Daire Hendricks were childhood best friends until a misunderstanding tore apart their relationship. While it didn't stop Rosie from seeing Daire's brothers, she didn't seek him out at all. But then Daire needs her help and Rosie begrudgingly says yes. Enter one marriage of convenience for a surprise pregnancy (NOT Rosie) with a reformed playboy hockey player. It's possible that time does heal wounds especially because Rosie and Daire had the opportunity to talk and clear the air about what happened back in high school. Now that they're older and approaching college graduation while keeping up the appearance of a happy, loving marriage they have the ability for open communication. I loved that! And when the fake started turning real (or as Daire puts it, always was real), I saw how well-suited they were for each other. They gave each other the support and confidence to tackle life's hardest jobs, including dealing with an overbearing mother (Rosie's) and raising a baby after a life-changing event. I couldn't help but fall in love with these characters!
