So I feel this one was a bit of a let-down after the smashing success that was the first volume (for me, obviously). That being said, there's still a lot of cool stuff here and if you loved the first one, you'll only love where this series is going more, so stick around for the ride and you will not be disappointed.

Recommends it for: Anyone who wants to smash the patriarchy. (And likes fun goofy dragons.)

Very fun! There are many opportunities for laughter as she sorts out how to rescue herself and her sisters.

This series is my kids' new favorite. A lot of it goes over their heads, and I didn't think this volume was as well done as the first, but it was still fun.

Continuing awesomeness. Going to my local comic shop this week and signing up to get the next series as the comics come out. Really want to put my money where my mouth is and support a fantastic, independent book. Also, don't want to have to wait a year or whatever for the next trade to come out! (Book 3 is apparently out in May or so, and then the Book 4 comics start coming out in June.)

today i have realized that i am exactly the reader this books aims for

i was looking at reviews and someone noted that the plot was hella obvious and it was clear as day that
Spoilerthe black knight would be asha

this did not occur to me at all but now i am super attached to the idea because that would be so cool

kinda sad i saw the review actually because i am telling you right now, if i'd come across that twist without warning i would have been amazed

anyways, still digging this series. classic fantasy which deliberately stomps on the racism and sexism endemic to the genre, what's not to like? :D

I enjoyed this book a great deal more than the first Princeless volume - being dropped into the story worked for me, and the story itself was enjoyable.

Not as strong as the first, but still good. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE OTHER SISTERS.
