I know there are a lot of people that think this book is too inappropriate for teenagers but really, if you're in high school you are definitely old enough to read this. I loved it!

SYNOPSIS:
The story tells about Katherine, a 17 year old senior in high school who is just about ready to leave the town and go to college in the fall. One night at a party she meets a handsome stranger named Michael. Michael and Katherine really hit it off instantly and begin to see more of each other. Eventually Michael and Katherine fall in love but how can it last when college is only a few months away? Is this the love of a lifetime of the very beginning of a lifetime of love?

REVIEW:
"Forever" By: Judy Blume tells a story about young love, first love, a story that can really touch the heart and relate to anyone in a certain way. The characters were so realistic and I grew very fond of Katherine. The relationship the bloomed between Michael and Katherine was so real, the challenges they faced, the decisions they made, their feelings and how they acted toward one another all seemed so real. I can't believe this book was published in the mid 70's because teenagers haven't really changed from back then which I found surprising since I constantly hear "Back in my day no one was sex crazy". Sex has a lot to do with the story, it talks about Katherine's decision whether she wants to lose it or not, the temptation Michael gives her, that it's just so incredibly realistic. I also loved the introduction Judy Blume gave in the beginning, giving a message to the young adult readers of this decade saying that times have changed between the 70's and now, back then no one knew of the many STD's we have now and proceeded to give a website and number to learn more about sex education. Anyway, The book sucked me in and kept me interested the whole way through, nice job Judy Blume! This novel is amazing!

AGE RATING AND RECOMMENDED TO:
I recommend this book to anyone who is wondering if they're ready for sex and for those who have fallen in love at a time in their life whether it be now or in the past. This book is all about sex and there are a few profanity words so I suggest the age should be for those 15 and over.

I enjoyed the book. It took me about 3 hours to read it so it's a very fast read. However, it wasn't how real teenage love feels I don't think. Katherine didn't seem like a convincing person to me, love is much more complicated than the author made it out to be.
