I really enjoyed the dynamic of the character's relationships. I thought that they were very realistic.

Read for my MLIS elective

I really don't know how to feel about this book tbh. But I understand why it's banned/challenged a LOT and the significant contributions Blume made to the YA genre. It's a work that openly discusses and depicts (as realistically as someone can) safe sex, birth control, Planned Parenthood (which doesn't kill babies @ Republicans), and teenagers being, well, teenagers, so I won't hate on it too much.

Definitely dated but also very easy to see why this was so groundbreaking. I remember being 14/15 and reading every book I could get my hands one that had sexual content  in it because I was so curious and all of them were kind of terrible. Fantasy with frankly nonhuman sex and a lot of rape. I would have read this book over and over again if I had found it at that age. I did not really like the characters though found them very realistic. Not into the fatphobia and Michael being so pushy.
