SUUUUUUPER CUUUTE!!!

This was fantastic. I was afraid it wouldn't live up to my expectations I had because of Night Owls but I thoroughly enjoyed Alex, Approximately.

I can't say how accurate these marginalized groups are represented but this book features a diverse cast of characters, including:
- Polynesian/Chinese love interest
- black side character (Nigerian, if I remember correctly)
- amputee side character
- disabled side character
- and though not stated, our MC deals with a few mental health issues (maybe PTSD? I can't say for sure)

If there are any #ownvoices reviews for these marginalized groups, I'd love if you could direct me to them (I haven't found any yet).

I adored the dialogue in this book. The dialogue is also what won me over with Night Owls and I've come to realise that Jenn Bennett is really, really great at writing fun but also meaningful dialogue. And don't even get me started on the sexual tension between Bailey and Porter. So fantastic.

Not the best book I’ve read these days, though its had high expectations to live up to. Though predictable, I enjoyed it. A nice light read before school starts.

3 stars.

Sometimes I love a good YA book and sometimes it's just a little too YA for my taste. Unfortunately, this book falls into the latter category. Normally, I like Jenn Bennett's work, but this just wasn't the book for me.

Maybe next time.

This book was such an easy read, and it involved enemies to lovers so I had to. This book did something I didn’t like/struggle with when it comes to that trope though and it shifted too soon from annoyance into attraction. Also... the back of the book completely gives away the plot. Like I kinda want Simon & Schuster to fire whoever thought that’d be a good idea (even though it would’ve been obvious even if I didn’t know). It just really bothered me through the entire book.
