Lola & the Millionaires: Part Two by Kathryn Moon

This is part two of a story and isn't written as a standalone.

The first Lola book works so well because it's a story about Lola and beginning her healing journey:
she starts terrified of alphas and ends trusting and relying on some in the end.

This isn't just about Lola, though. It's also about her individual relationships with six guys.  And they're all developing in the same space that a normal romance uses to flesh out a single relationship. Consequently not everything makes it on-page. In this case it leaves the relationships feeling shallow. She starts the story
trusting this pack and ends... Loving the pack? There's not much of a before-and-after,
and it's a bit of a let down after the expectations created by the first book.

I liked the development in the relationships in this one. Each character has a different personality thats obvious.

A sweet follow up to the first book. Enjoyed the characters but found the events towards the end to be rushed and somewhat confusing. Not a fan of the epilogue, but enjoyed that the book wasn't just all steam and had emphasis on the characters healing.

Stars taken off for the confusing events surrounding the assasin. Mostly towards the end but also during the book the scenes just seemed out of place. Maybe the assassin will be explored in the Sweetverse later, but the character felt awkwardly placed.  Additionally, bringing up huge changes in the epilogue that aren't explored is something I personally find frustrating. I do recognize that many are simply looking for steam on a book like this and not plot so it might not be as big of deal to some.</spolier>

Heat Level: Scorching
multiple graphic sex scenes between 2+ characters

*This is fantasy only in that it is in an alternate universe where alpha, omega, and beta exist. There are no fantastical elements.*

Moon's writing, as usual, adds heart and sweetness to a smutty ass book. This is erotica with heart. That is her new branding. I loved the characters, loved Lola, and the plot was intriguing enough to keep me reading. The writing was great. I do tend to tire of the sex scenes when there's too many and tend to skim them, and I did end up doing that a few times in this one. The ending made me happy.
I do feel like the only relationship that seemed rushed and/or forced was the one with Cyrus. I think it would have been more believable if the tension was woven through the whole story, but with the way it is, it kind of feels like it came out of nowhere.
