Probably one of the worst things I’ve read this year!
Crawford was so fucking creepy!

Disappointing.
Was pretty surface level in terms of the MC's relationship. Didn’t feel like they had a connection. Didn’t really like Crawford.
Thought it was bizarre that someone like Owen, with his history, would put on a collar and go to a kink club at the request of Crawford, after meeting him only once before.
Was looking forward to the BDSM aspects, the dynamic was something I generally like, but it fell flat and was actually quite boring.
Meh.

A really unique and wonderful take on Alpha/omega and D/s

Someone recommended this book to me, saying that the Alpha/Dom was unusually respectful of the omega/submissive, and they were absolutely right. He wasn't weak or indecisive by any means, but he made it clear that the omega had his own freewill and choice, and never made him feel like a lesser person. He made it clear that he'd rather pleasure than punish, though both types of encounters were sizzling hot.

I still haven't read a lot of A/o books that aren't shifter-themed, but this was a great example of one that I will be recommending. I'll also be checking out more books from this author.

So, something that should be noted is that I'm a sucker for collared d/s dynamics. There was no way I was going to pass up this book, mpreg or not. That said, there were parts of this story that seemed.. contrived. I get that there needs to be background and clearly the other characters are kind of a set up for future books. But.. they still felt like weird afterthoughts.

I was looking for a very specific type of book when I found this one. I wanted a kinky, MM romance book, narrated by Michael Dean (I was suffering a Michael Dean induced book hangover) and this one hit the mark! This was my first omega verse book (why did I think omega verse meant werewolves?) and it was definitely surprising since I had no idea what omega verse was haha. However, once I got past the initial shock of knots and slick on humans and not shifters, I really enjoyed this one! The underlying tone of fighting for omega rights was really great. The kink was also wonderful and the spice was spectacular! The plot was enjoyable, even if a bit predictable. It has the air of those billionaire romance types. I can’t say this is the most intriguing book I have ever read, but it really satisfied my mood, and I still think about this series often. Hence the reread, and likely more rereads in future. If you are looking for kink, mm romance, billionaire romance, adversity, overcoming severe trauma, mpreg, and Michael Deans amazing narration (this last one is specific to the audiobook lol), then I HIGHLY recommend this series!

A very enjoyable, sensual mpreg story, well-written and with detailed world-building. The relationship is a very caring one, and the draw between both MC’s is strong and appealing.
I liked Crawford and Owen and the instant connection between them was written very persuasively. The relationship is a very caring one, and the draw between both men is strong and appealing.
The only thing that bugged me a little was how fast their relationship progressed, especially considering the bdsm aspect. I didn’t entirely get Owen’s willingness to instantly go along with every suggestion, or order rather, of Crawford’s, because they fell into the bdsm part of their relationship so hastily, without first having taken the time to get to know each other and build up trust.
The world-building is detailed and original, but I’d have liked it better if the omega/beta/alpha characteristics had been confined to the physical, rather than the psychological/mental.
Still, this was a very nice story, with a bit of a tragic mystery in Owen’s past and a very sweet happily-ever-after.

This was a light, quick read with some good smut. Just what I needed.
