This book is phenomenal!
Ellis and Kensley's story is an enemies-to-lovers romance that starts with a bang and doesn't let up throughout the entire book. I enjoyed every step along their journey! There is so much depth and character development in this story. I am impressed with the way the author weaved current happenings and internal monologues together to keep the action flowing but also give the reader insight to each characters' thoughts, feelings and motivations. It was the perfect blend to keep the story moving while also fleshing out these intriguing characters.
Kensley is an intelligent, driven heroine who doesn't allow any man to divert her attention away from her goals. As her motivations and her past experiences are unveiled, you can't help but root for Ellis to finally break through the walls Kensley has built around herself. I enjoyed the journey she goes on immensely.
Ellis is a driven and compassionate man who can't help but be there for Kensley despite their differences and rocky history.
Their love story is fully developed and leaves no doubt that these two not only have oodles of sexual chemistry but are deeply in love as well. So many romances focus so heavily on sex that the emotional connection is neglected to the point that the "love" between the characters isn't believable. That is definitely NOT the case with this book. Kensley and Ellis have scorching hot sex but their emotional connection is deep and moving.
I am so happy to have discovered Lenore Ashwood and this series! The next book in this series is bound to be full of fireworks and I can't wait for it!
If you love romance, do yourself a favor and read this book!
