Okay, sorry Rhett I still love you but Cade takes the cake right now. What a fucking PHENOMENAL book. Elsie please you are such a goddess for giving us a man like grumpy Cade Eaton and then shoving sunshine Willa Grant into his life. I’m obsessed. Could he have paid a little less attention to the age gap? Absolutely but you know what I don’t even care. I think he was so hung up on it because he didn’t want his wanting her to affect her youth as literally everything took his from him.

And Luke???? Oh my god I love him so much what a CUTIE PIE seriously he is the best character. I love these interconnected standalone books because we got to see Rhett and Summer but still focusing on a completely different couple. It’s so good. Elsie does it so perfectly. I am eating these books all the way up and I cannot stinking wait to start Powerless.

OMG!!! I LOVE this book. This is my favorite out of the whole series. Every single aspect is just *chef's kiss*. DADDY CADEEEEE! I love this man! I really thought no one would pass Rhett Eaton but hot damn, Cade had to come and just take Rhett's spot. I was so surprised with this man if I am being honest. The words that this man spoke, I am obsessed. As the story goes on the more I like him, the fact that he is able to talk about his past and his insecurities just made it way better. The love that he has for Luke is just incomparable to anything else, this man would do anything and everything for his boy and I find that so special. Luke's character was just so special, he was literally the cherry on top of the book, the book was so good and he made it so much better. Willa..... WILLA! I freaking love this woman! She is a FIRECRAKER! And I couldn't love her more. She is just so special and her personality brings so much to the book. She cares so deeply for those she loves and it shows. Her relationship with Luke is just absolutely beautiful and it made my heart melt every single time. NOW! Cade and Willa's relationship is just *cheff's kiss* *swoon* I just don't have words. They are perfect for each other. WIlla brings so much light and Cade is the calm of the Hurricane. I just couldn't get enough of this couple. The banter! The SPICE! They just love each other so much and all they want is for each other and Luke to be happy. They are just polar opposites and they complement each other. Love love love. I don't know what else I can say.

Memorable Quotes
  •  “And I realize in that moment maybe I am heartless after all, because the beautiful girl with the copper hair grinning back at me right now is the one who stole it.”
  •  “Life lesson, shithead. Careful who you pick a fight with. Someone insane might love him.”
  •  “I don’t care. Don’t you get it? I’m in love with you, Willa. Prickly legs, random carrots in your purse
    , pregnant, not pregnant.
    I want you.”
  •  “Keep talking like that and I’m going to fuck the filth right out of your pretty mouth.”
  •  “Cade is the embodiment of actions speaking louder than words. "
  •  “Do you think . . .” He peers back up at me now. “Do you think it would be okay if I called you mom too?”
  •  “Thank you. Thank you for being the first person in my life to put me first, to give me options. I’m not sure I deserve that gift, but I know that I’ll never forget it for as long as I live.”
  •  “Every part of me wants to go after her, but sometimes loving someone means giving them the space they want. The space they need. For a little while, at least.”

Contains accidental pregnancy trope, I'm not really gaga for this trope but it fit this story/didn't force them together, the characters had already made their minds up about being together before it happened, plus the jokes about it were great 😆
