Not the pregnancy trope, that’s the only reason this isn’t 5 stars for me

Willa and Cade’s story had me kicking my feet like a school girl. Having Willa’s care free personality balance out Cade’s grumpy and rigid personality was such a fun dynamic to explore. Especially when they start to get to know one another and become vulnerable regarding how they grew up and the struggles they have been through. They balance each other and provide the comfort and reassurance each need. Also, watching Willa with Luke had me in my feels it was so precious.

I have SO MANY WORDS about this book. Most of them go like this EEEEKKKKKKKKK. 😂 Devoured it in 48 hours around a very busy work week.

Wow.  I thought I loved Rhett and Flawless, but THIS book absolutely and utterly has my WHOLE HEART.  Daddy Cade could do whateverrrrr he wanted to me.

The spice is top level, the wit throughout the whole book is hilarious and the vulnerability of both Cade and Willa and the way they help each other through it is just divine.  Luke is utterly adorable and his openness to Willa is so tender.  Harvey, as per usual, has perfect comic timing.

I'm glad there was only one appearance of Talia.....😡

And finally........ HOW MANY BACKWARDS CAP MENTIONS WERE THERE?  I needed to be picked up off the FLOOR there were so many!

Cannot wait to get to the rest of this series.

Elsie Silver will forever be the reason for my love of small towns and cowboy romances. Since I first read this back in July of last year, I have reread it three times and each time I do, I fall more in love with Willa and Cade. Willa is a firecracker and I love how she speaks her mind and is so unfiltered. Then you have Cade, the grumpy single dad that is closed off and sometimes doesn’t even know how to communicate with those around him. However, this man right here is undeniably the most thoughtful and caring person. Their relationship had me kicking my feet, laughing, and smiling so damn much from the very first time they met to the last page. And their banter? It was fun. It was witty. It was everything I love and more. Also the spice in this book? When the slow burn turns into full burn, good lord 🥵🫠 Some of my favorite all time spice moments are from this book and with good reason.

If you are looking for a cowboy romance, please do yourself a favor and read Heartless, then proceed to read the rest of the Chestnut Springs series.

Quotes💕:
“Are you insane? You think I went three years without laying my hand on a single person to break my streak with one as exceptional as you and then let you just walk away?”

“I knew you had big dick energy, but this is something else.”

“How do I look?” I quirk a brow and arch my back. “Like you’re mine,” he growls.

This book just felt like a lot of lost potential to me. Honestly, the worst part was that Willa being a horseback rider was SO underutilized in this book. Like, what do you mean she HAS A HORSE and she never asks if she can bring him to the ranch. NEVER. Entirely unrealistic. I don't like authors throwing in that the FMC of a cowboy romance can ride and then only use it for half a scene.

The pregnancy ruined this book for me. Willa was not characterized like someone who would be okay with being the barefoot mom and she changed VERY suddenly. It didn't feel right at all.

I read the first book in this series and didn’t think it could get better but gosh I was wrong. This book made me laugh and cry and was just generally pretty heart warming. I loved it.
