This is romantic fluff, and I loved it.

This is one of the most romantic stories I have read about finding love at what ever life stage you happen to be at.

That is not to say the plot is sunshine and rainbows all the way, it is full of examples of the rich tapestry life can weave.

However the main moral of this book is that compassion and human kindness can conquer most of life's dramas.

Finally a book I've read for 2020 that didn't disappoint me. It was such a heartwarming book. I loved Callie. You couldn't help but like her. I hated how she was treated by the people around her when she herself was so kind to everyone. She didn't let it get her down though. My absolute favourite was the friendship between Callie and Ruby. It shows the true bond of friendship. This book kept my attention, it was lovely and entertaining. I will need to check out the author's books.

“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”

2.4*-ish. I think I like this author's shorter books much more. The ones of this size drag on interminably and sag into repetitive motions in the middle. I am also not a fan of Mary Sue characterizations for the main characters - they are saccharine sweet, kind and forgiving to the point of absurdity and dysfunction - damaging the very relationships and people they try to treat kindly. I might not have noticed this trend had I not read a few of her books in a row, but it's getting a bit repetitive and bordering on obnoxious.

But, this book wasn't bad and it worked for the purpose I picked it up for - distracting me while I did chores. I even got interested in the characters enough to finish the book, but I also got frustrated and annoyed - both with the characters and the writing. I really hope this author can find a good ruthless story editor to work with. She clearly has talent, but the books seem like unedited drafts - with great potential, but still a lot of work to be done.
