Did I think I would enjoy alien erotica? Nope. But here we are! A little rough around the edges in terms of writing style but the story is entertaining and intriguing and the characters are charming as shit. There were some repetitive bits and it’s a little disappointing not knowing much about the aliens who abducted all these women, but the romance (?) and the courage of both groups of people in this story was captivating.

I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I first tried to read this last year, but the on page r*pe scene at the beginning made me put it down for a few months. I'm glad I picked it back up again, as that did not happen again in the book and I expect that it will not happen again in the series. I still think that part was wholly unnecessary and I wish it wasn't included, but I was still able to continue on.
This love story is cute and fun. The plot is nonsense, as expected, but still enjoyable. I picked this up just for some light reading to get m out of a bit of a slump, but I found myself actually thinking about the plot and characters throughout my day. This is always a sign that I'm really enjoying something.
The writing is nothing to write home about, and I personally never enjoy a super casual/'spunky' narrator (i.e. internal monologue consisting of thing's like 'oh my freaking god', etc.), but I just glazed over these things eventually. I ended up really liking Georgie, and seeing her and Vektal interact without common language in the first half of the book really made it an entertaining read.
All-in-all I enjoyed this book for what it was, and I do plan on reading more in the series!

This is a reread since I bought the physical book with a new cover and I still love the relationship between Georgie and Vektal. Their original “meeting” was pretty funny and their language barrier made their interactions humorous especially from his pov where he’s trying to understand what she’s saying. I tabbed the hell out of this book and for good reason. Their were a lot of spicey scenes throughout the book along with funny and romantic moments between the duo and the side characters and even some sad sappy moments when they talk about the possibility of her going back to earth if she had the chance.

I liked the world building in the book and the descriptive language used when mentioning the setting as well as what the aliens and other wildlife looked like on this other planet.

Note that there is some dubious consent towards the beginning of the book. Even though that would normally really bother me or make me DNF, in this case it was easier to look past because of the language and cultural differences between the aliens and humans.
