It is honestly what you expect it to be. I would advise you to not start the book expecting top-tier content, but be prepared to be surprised. The writing is actually quite good and while some parts are defiantly a bit corny, I can say I quite enjoyed the book.

Please be aware that there are very dark, adult themes. While the premise of the book is the usual Alien/Human trope -- Readers should be aware that there are themes of Sexual assault, Torture, Emotional & Physical Abuse among other things. Please look at Content Warnings before reading.

I knew the TWs but it was a little graphic and not enjoyable.

But once the ladies get to not hoth, I enjoyed this story a lot. The sex scenes were plentiful and fun to read. This story is fast paced but not confusing. Very straight to the point.

I really liked the concept. This was a fun read past the first TW. I love a good mate fic.

3.5 ⭐s. Mara from BooksLikeWhoa talks about Ruby Dixon nonstop, so when an opportunity to buddy read this with Jordan from jordans.bookshelf came up I definitely had to take advantage. Essentially, this is campy sci-fi romance with a heavy helping of smut. As a non-smut reader, I did NOT think this would be my thing, but I'm pretty open to trying things (in book world that is), and I ended up weirdly enjoying it?!?!? Georgie and Vektal's romance was kind of adorable, and there was enough plot to keep me interested. The writing was solid, and I liked the campiness. I did have some icky moments with the consent in this one, but overall, it was not something I regret reading at all.

Tiktok got me here again. This book surprised me. It is better than I thought it was going to be. I thought that the reason it was viral, it was because it was really smutty but I don't think there were that many s e x scenes and the story is actually good, enjoyable and entertaining.

There is a rape scene at the beginning of the book; a few paragraphs long. ( I skipped it).
There is oral sex without consent but the recipient ends up liking it, a lot.
