If i didn’t listen to this book i wouldn’t have finished it lol i don’t think it was bad but i would say 3.5. the ending was sweet. i didn’t like when the demon started chanting bc i did think i was going to be possessed. i also think the dog part was unnecessary.. did not like that at all ? and the baby part ? idk i think those parts were weird. wish we got more closure w gretchen. like she was possessed one second and then all the sudden everything’s fine. i wanna know everything !

Idk I loved this. As a queer woman I was so wary of religion saving the day
but I’m sorry I’m such a fucking sucker for the power of friendship and community triumphing over evil

Am I shedding a tear while reading this dark comedy novel? Yes, friendship is a beautiful thing.

Review: My Best Friend's Exorcism is a very good read about the lengths you'd go for your friends dressed up in a horror-based dressing.

The main character of the book, Abigail Rivers, has always been a loyal friend,, even when sometimes it would have been better to cut her losses and find new friends. Even in the beginning, when she was very hesitant on becoming Gretchen's friend, she accepted her and they were close ever since then. Abby went through some of the hardest things that she could in order to save Gretchen from her possession since Gretchen was her first true friend and it was very harrowing to watch everything in the universe tell her to give up--and she even begins to internalize it--but she didn't give up at all. She believed that her best friend was still there and in desperate need of help.

It was just a good read, arguably the best of the Grady Hendrix books I've read so far.

Es de mis menos favoritos suyos hasta ahora, quizá porque me parece menos original, pero aun así me ha encantado. Un retrato muy ¿bonito? de esas amistades incondicionales de la adolescencia, pero llevado al extremo.
