This was everything I expected. Very fun, disgusting and camp. Best parts: the 80’s song chapter titles, the second half of the exorcism. Worst parts: Margaret’s ailment, Good Dog Max.

I mostly liked this book, especially the setting, Abby and Gretchen's friendship, and the little observations about society.

I really enjoyed the way random details that seemed peppered in for exposition came back around

like the way Abby used the details of her and Gretchen's friendship to exorcise the demon.

Other aspects of the book, like

disgusting descriptions and Good Boy Max's death

I didn't enjoy as much. But it was an exorcism story, so that just kind of comes with the territory.
