The art is so grotesque and detailed, and I’m intrigued enough by the mystery  to continue reading. Love that the main cast is all teen girls, however it’s a little strange that the author is a man. The homophobia and antisemitism were unnecessary.

More homophobia than anything gay in this story. Don’t understand why it’s listed as lgbt+. I don’t think a side character mentioning their partner or their gay parents qualifies.

This was an absolute trip. As a reader I was definitely thrown in the deep end, but the MCs also had no idea what was happening, so I kind of enjoyed the confusion? The plot of the story was unique, but it also has some great Stranger Things vibes. I also really liked the colour palette. All in all, I’m really intrigued to see what happens next.

I wanted to like this book but the homophobia, ableism and antisemitism was too much. I know it’s set in the 80s but it wasn’t written in the 80s and it’s just unnecessary.
