If you are a translator or you are not tired of post-modernism yet, you will enjoy this.
I still don’t know how to feel about this book tbh. It is a bit of a divise read, I read it for a class on translation and think it is a very good book for that purpose but I highly doubt it I would have kept reading it if it wasn’t assigned.
I can appreciate the experimentation but I was just not in the mood, and frankly was exhausted after a while. However I loved all of the essays, memoir passages and dialogue sections. This is very experimental and it can just be that, but I think it could have been so so soooo much better if the format was re-worked. Maybe putting the translation notes after each poem instead of after all of them.
Major props to Monica, she is clearly a genius at language. That is undeniable
