I keep reading these McFadden books, but she tends to make her female characters kind of, as Junie B. Jones would put it, dumb bunnies. Almost like they can't hold two thoughts in their heads at one time. Like this gal could only focus all of her energy on one line of thinking and not consider anything else going on around her. The story was fine. The premise didn't seem incredibly realistic, but at least in this book, incarcerated people weren't treated as much of monsters as the mentally ill people were in her other book. McFadden is always going to give you a twist at the end
but I didn't find this one terribly satisfying. Maybe have read too many of her books?
It was fine!

I hate to admit this is my first Freida McFadden read, but here we are and I’m only upset I didn’t start sooner (in my defense, her books have been on my shelf…)

I don’t often get caught off guard with endings, but the plot twists this book took were unreal. I enjoyed every twist, turn and fork in the road. My only complaint is that it is a very simple writing style for the intense content, but I don’t necessarily find that to be a flaw. Rather, they are reads I can pick up whenever, no matter how tired I may be.

An excellent thriller, well paced, lots of twists that weren't predictable or unbelievable,  and an excellent ending

Not the best book I’ve read by this author but good for a different type of read. I found myself not really connecting with many of the characters and guessing some of the plot twists.

Brooke was told not to get close to the inmates at her new job as nurse practitioner at a prison but what her new boss doesn’t know is one of the prisoners are there because of her.

This book was so amazing! Just when I thought I knew who the bad guy was a huge twist would happen and it’s change! So crazy! I didn’t know what story to believe or what was the true story! And I loved every second of it!
