Eu disse a mim mesma que jamais leria outro livro de bridgerton, mas tem momentos que a vontade é ler um livro bobo só para passar o tempo, o que esse livro fez na maioria dos capítulos, até se tornar insuportável no final. A Penelope é de longe a melhor protagonista dos livros dessa série, mas o colin é insuportável como todos os homens dessa série (me surpreendi que a palavra "libertino" foi usada apenas uma vez, e não a cada segundo como nos outros) começou bem, mas toda aquela história de acessos de raiva era ridícula e mal feita. E outra que essa autora não sabe desenvolver os plots e fazer uma sequência de eventos coesa de jeito nenhum, deixar o conflito que assolou o livro INTEIRO pro último capítulo e ainda se resolver de forma tão boba. 3 estrelas apenas porque eu me diverti nos primeiros capítulos

This is my first book in the Bridgetown series. And also, I guess my first Julia Quinn book. I had watched the Bridgertin series…loved Penelope ‘s character a lot. I guess a bit too much (may be because I relate to her in someway).
When I came to know s3 is Polin. I couldn't help getting excited, and to curb that I read the book.

Review of the Book

I Though there were times I wished Penelope could take a stand for herself. But, things worked in her favour. There are times I feel if she took a strict stand and called out Colin - when he found out her truth at the church. Forbade her to pursue her hobby. Would he still marry her? Would he be intimidated by her opposing him so fiercely?

I liked Colin at times and at times I felt his love for Penelope was a bit too forced.
What made him fall for her? There were no threats that made him ‘realise’ his love (like they introduce the love triangle in S3 in Bridgerton). Just one fine day he wakes up and finds Penelope pretty and intelligent.

The romance was written because they had to write it. IT WAS THEIR BOOK.

But I liked the various emotions, I was inspired by Penelope giving pep talk to Colin about writing. How it inspires the readers, etc.

For me I came to this book only for Penelope and only for her.
