Please check out my full review at my blog here!

Please note in an exchange for an honest review, I received an advance reader copy (ARC) from NetGalley.

Abraham wrote a wonderful entry to his Kithamar trilogy. I enjoyed the characters and the plot was interesting enough that I found myself unable to put the book down.

Do I recommend it? Yes! But if you're the type of person who strives for more action than a slow burner character driven plot, then I would definitely pass this

As for me, I'll certainly be picking up the second book since the world was just so captivating and I'm excited to find out what's next for city of Kithamar.

The story of two girls introduces the world and the start of evil and politics. Slow read but interesting. Read it in 2 days and couldn't put it down. Mainly is a story about grief.

Haven't read the Dagger and Coin so can't compare but made me want to get the other series.

Loved it, read the entire thing in almost one go........had to break to make dinner...
At first I liked Alys, then I disliked her strongly. Then forgave her.

I saw criticisms of characters in other reviews but I didn't find that at all.
Alys, we got the idea.....Sammish, interesting and what happens to her later in next books, I can't wait.

Alys mum, her brother etc, all good, and not perfect, flawed, normal humans.
But I do like Daniel Abrahams work, Dagger and Coin was good too.

Not a fan of his collaboration works, but that's personal taste I think, you get caught up in a world and tale, or you don't.
This one I sure did!

Page 410, I almost didn't want to read ...rather nail-biting there.
Will be ordering Book 2 the second it becomes available.
