Book hangover! This book was sooo good! I loved the story and the development of the characters. I cannot wait to find out what happens between Shaye and Atlas. What will happen with her current fiancé? Is he really bad? What about her relationship with her parents? How will Shaye's magic develop? So many questions... I cannot wait to read the next book in the series! I will have to wait until April 2024. :)

I really enjoyed this book. Atlas was the perfect amount of brooding and sweet. I enjoyed the mystery of Shayes fiancé and her magic so I can’t wait to see what happens next. Shaye is kind of bratty in the beginning which I think is intentional but she’s a little childish. However her character growth and the found family aspect really made me love this book!

This was a really intriguing premise. The story follows Shaye, the heir (ish because women aren't allowed to rule) to the Midorian Throne. She is kidnapped by the sworn enemies of her kingdom, the Tronovians, on the eve of her wedding.

One of the book's strengths lies in Shaye herself, who starts as an intensely sheltered and naive princess but undergoes significant growth as the story continues. Her determination to escape her captors and uncover the many, many secrets about herself and her loved ones adds depth to her character and drives the narrative forward. The dynamic between Shaye and her young captors adds an interesting layer to the story, particularly as they form a sort of found family during their journey. However, one aspect that could be improved upon is Shaye's tendency to accept negative perceptions of her loved ones without questioning or seeking proof, especially because these are her supposed enemies. It really made her growth a little harder to swallow.

Overall, this was a super fun and easy read.

I don’t even know where to begin with how good this book is.

Shaye is now in Tronovia and studies and trains her powers while also discovering more of herself. They set off to Elowen where she meets her birth mother 🥹 I cried so much in this book.

Shaye meeting and training her dragon was absolutely everything! Seraxes is just as stubborn as Shaye and she had to earn her trust.

And after Atlas made an ass out of himself once again they finally worked things out and choose each other 🥹

This book has everything!! I try to keep this as much spoiler free but so much happens in it with a lot of banter that it’s almost impossible!

Fast paced and spicy 🔥

Recommend this to all romantasy lovers!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My goal last week was to reach 50 % in this book and I reached well over 80% and if I didn't have to work I would have devoured it even faster. This book is fast paced and the chapters just flow seamlessly into each other. I loved every second of it.

If I could have highlighted the whole book I would have. That's how much I loved it. There's magic, angst, betrayal, love and not one, not two but THREE brothers to fall in love with. Its so hard to pick a favorite. Nyx is all fun and witty, Finn is sweet, protective and kind and Atlas is our shadow daddy that I can't get enough of. So maybe I do have a favorite.

Shaye, our leading lady, undergoes a lot of character development on this journey and it's only been book 1. As he or to the throne of Midori, she has a lot going on and a lot of secrets are coming to light when she was kidnapped before her wedding.  The banter between her and Atlas 😍😍😍. I love it.
I love that Atlas believes in her and will always be there for her.

"I won't let you fall. Trust me."

"And if I got lost?"He smiles and my heart skips a beat. "I told you before, I'll always find you."

I also love that she finally has a friend she can confide in in Eris. Eris's story 😢. I just wanted to cry I feel so attached to this crew already. I love that Eris has also found a friend in Shaye. They need each other. I can't wait for book 2.

No spice (yet?)

In a world with six kingdoms consisting of different races, the privileged Princess Ilaria, or Shaye, is next in line for the Midorian Throne. However, she is to marry her childhood best friend/lover since women are not allowed to rule. On the night before their highly anticipated wedding, Shaye mistakenly witnesses an attempted assassination led by the rivaled Tronovian kingdom—the only other kingdom, besides Midori, that is ruled by humans. Subsequently, she is kidnapped by three devilishly handsome Tronovian brothers but refuses to go down quietly, leading to a wild goose chase, discovered secrets, and adventure among the jungles within the troll-ruled Bava kingdom.

This book laid a solid foundation for the start of a promising series! There is one obvious love interest, though I was convinced this could be a RH. I mean, she’s traveling with three magical brothers who all want to protect her, am I right? I’m still not giving up that dream since there are more books to come
