I want to read the actual book later so I can enjoy the illustrations but I listened to the audiobook narrated by Will Wheaton and it was amazing. It was funny and so absurd and yet very informative. Wheaton does a wonderful job and it made my exhausted morning commutes fly by without me dozing off.

Ever wondered how thick the walls of your above ground cheese pool need to be? This is the book for you!

I really enjoyed this!! I'm a big xkcd lover and am always telling people about it. I couldn't stop talking to others about the things i learned while reading this book, and the silly ways the information was presented.

Some chapters are much better than others.
IMO most chapters are too long.
I enjoyed "What If?" a lot more.

Nette Ideen und absurde Überlegungen. Eine Variante mit Angaben im metrischen System wäre noch schöner für alle nicht Amerikaner.

If you want to learn how to defend your house from intruders or simply go to a place this book has you covered. The solutions explored in this book are well backed by sience and good research on the topics but i still wouldnt recommend building a lava mold to defend your house. Recommended to anybody who likes quirky scientific solutions to common(or not so common) real world problems.

Not as good as the first book but still amusing and very technical on how to do things in the silliest way possible or how to do silly things in a logical manner. Good for kids questions if you summarize the technical aspects to them. Love the little drawings that go with all the explanations.
