Great for Critical Role fans, although it might also be a good starting point for those who want to delve into the universe without the hundreds of hours commitment that is watching the campaign on Youtube.

Regarding the art style, it is not my favorite: it's very traditional comic style and I would've liked something more along the animated series style. However, the characterization feels on point and Vex'halia just cemented her place as my favorite character of this cast. I was really happy that this featured so much of her and Keyleth - yes, I'm a shipper!

I felt this was a waste of time. It barely felt like the characters as played during the game, more like some checklist someone added pictures to that the author was trying to get through as fast as possible. I've felt the same about any of the other comics associated with Critical Role, honestly. And, I hated the cartoon, it basically have me mild ptsd over how needlessly stressful to watch it is. I'm not even kidding. So, bottom line, the only thing I care about with Critical Role are the game performances. Full stop.

I'm a huge fan of Critical Role and Vox Machina, so this was a necessary buy. And I loved it. Everything that makes Critical Role so special is here. The drama, action, magic, quirks, speaking mannerisms, and nods to the fans. I could pick at some of the plot and pacing if I really wanted to, but I'm not going to because this little story made me so happy. I adored it, and all Critters and D&D and fantasy fans should give it a shot!
