Well-written story about unpleasant people
Don’t read this thinking it will reflect the style of Delia’s sister Nora. These people are not nice, although their story is compelling. I’m still not sure I’m glad I read it, and I’m certainly glad I didn’t read it while traveling in Sicily, which was the original intention.

Amazing writing about highly unlikable people.
Most of the characters were just a little too exaggerated for me, had a hard time feeling the story.

I'm not a fan of multi POV novels but I'm on the quest for good summer reads so I thought "eh let's give it a try!" Yeah, no. Each POV got a handful of pages then it switched to the next POV. Despite the quick switches, it felt long and slow. The characters were unlikable not in a "good" way where you love to hate but a "you are so whiny, shut up" way. One couple named their kid "Snow" so I guess that shows you what type of characters to expect.
My high review is not really based on my enjoyment of the book, but I could appreciate for what it was. The book is told from four different perspectives, and I was really impressed with how distinct each voice was. Very well done. However, this book is centralized more on character development, as opposed to plot. So it's a little slow.
