Wow, if this book were a concert I would be on my feet, if it were a play I'd be back from intermission on time, if it were a road trip I'd stop at every roadside attraction & watering hole just so it wouldn't be over too soon .

it's not perfect, but it's perfectly engaging and very hard to put down ! Four stars because I reached for it with my first cup of coffee and picked it up time after time after bedtime when I should have been sleeping instead ! Relentless, memorable & readable all at the same time.

A fast, fun vacation read! Especially if you like creepy child characters. And I always appreciate good use of multiple perspectives.

This book felt like it took me a million years to finish. I'm usually fine with "unlikeable" characters, but this book was so slow, and they didn't help matters at all. It's apparently one of the ~best beach reads of all time~ but I can't imagine anything falling more flat than this.

Although there were some plot weaknesses and holes, there is much to love about this book. Definitely read!

3.5*. Quick, entertaining. Would definitely be a great beach/holiday read.

If I had to describe this novel in one word it would be nuanced. The clue is in the hidden subtle remarks and airs. Marriage is just as much about what is said, as what is not. A suspenseful page turner in the gone girl-esque style you either love or hate. I loved all the twists in turns, and read it in two days.

4.5 so I'll bump it to 5. Took half a star off for guessing the big "twist" very early on.

This was a quick read and I enjoyed it. Nothing I was crazy about, but perfect for the crazy-holiday week were in.
dark sad medium-paced
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

It's not BAD. Just not something I would recommend, really. There was some interesting character development with the young girl, Snow, in the book but I just... it was just okay.
