This book left me feeling... unsatisfied. There was A LOT of buildup, and it didn't really pay off in the climax, in my opinion. The "twist" was pretty predictable (even I predicted it, and I'm horrible at these things), and the ending was pretty depressing and not satisfying at all. I did like how the story is told from 4 different points of view. The writing changed based on which character was telling the story, and I thought that was both subtle and effective. Not a terrible book, but I didn't love it.
What a hateful group of people. This sums up the meaning behind the famous quote " with friends like that who needs enemies".
This book was full of horrible people trying to pass as good people. I love that in books.
The story covers a variety of topics- controlling mothers, infidelity, and the stress of traveling with those you are contentious with- without over delving into a story and exhausting it.

Dark and twisty. Slightly predictable plot, but fascinating characters. Each chapter retold from 4 main characters' points of view
Delightfully, thrillingly messed up story of two twisted marriages and the child that unraveled both of them.
4/ The White Lotus with a twist Big Little Lies in the Rashoman style re-telling. I was surprised at how engaged I was throughout this one. A couple's vacation slowly comes unhinged and Ephron has fun dismantling the relationships screw by screw. Characterization is especially strong-- there are 4 POVs, but they each have a distinctive voice and tone. If anything, I think it could have lingered a little more at the end after the "big event" occurs.
I liked this book. It's a quick read and I enjoyed the different perspectives. I didn't love it though. It was an okay read, a beach read, though nothing was as scandalous as I thought it would be. I predicted what would happen at the end but I wasn't super disappointed. Well, one thing disappointed me but I won't spoil it. Solid writing, interesting characters. The kid is creepy as hell.
Very fun, very fast-paced, voice-driven domestic thriller about two families vacationing together in Italy.
Siracusa by Delia Ephron is a book of two marriages, one mistress, and one little girl. The characters are not likable. The entire scenario is not entirely believable. However, the writing keeps me engaged even as I want to look away. Reading this book is like passing by the scene of a crash scene. You know things are going to be bad. You don't really want to see. Yet, you can't help but look.
