Another good Winston brothers book. I loved the FMC being a strong woman in the FBI. Roscoe loving her for years is everything. The extra tidbit you find out Billy does you just can’t blame him at all. I have a feeling I’m going to really enjoy Billy’s book. The girls dressed up as clowns had me cackling!

This story was much more interesting because of the underlying murder mystery, the shootings, the stalking, etc.

I liked that our FMC was an FBI agent wrangled into going back home in order to work on solving a murder case. I liked this plot line a lot.
She was a woman of color, so I am unable to speak as to how accurately her race was represented as I am too light for that.

The fact that Roscoe is a vet!!! Ugh, swoon.
The fact that he legit saved himself for Simone!!! Seriously?
His memory situation is crazy. He remembers everything!!! I liked that in the beginning, he talked about how he has to kind of dull himself in order to be socially acceptable. That is so relatable even as a person with the memory of a lima bean.

These two have loved each other since high school. Roscoe ghosted her at some point, but I honestly don't remember why he ghosted her. I even went back through the last quarter of the book & still couldn't figure it out. So, I guess I'll never know.

The book was overall ok

Characters - 4.5/5
I absolutely loved them

Plot - 4/5
I love 2nd chances romance. The reason why they went their separate ways is SO original

Writing - 3.5/5
Pace - 4/5
Ending - 3.5/5

I don't know why, but I feel like the passion is always lacking in the Winston brothers books. It's weird because they are passionate characters.

I loved it, not LOVED IT but loved it. Penny Reid is one of my favorite authors, her quirky humor and sense of romance fit my twisted heart just right. Why didn't I love it ? The Female MC, Simone. I didn't like her, she was too distant, lied and was too cold for my Roscoe. Yup, my Roscoe ! Roscoe is a hunk with manners, treats women with respect and is a veterinarian. There is a scene with him rolling around on the floor with puppies ! That is my porn ! Excuse me I need to fan myself at the memory. Wooowee it's hot in here.

I'm not going to tell you about the story, you need to read this series and know these boys stories to get the quirky things. These bearded boys are hotter than Houston in August. Have a nice cold drink handy when you pick these up

This is my favorite of the Winston Brothers books so far! Love Simone! Love Roscoe! A bit heavier on the sub-plot than the romantic interest, but that was definitely still a major part of the book.
