Would have been 4 stars but the FMC did something so incredibly dumb at 90% that I almost stopped.

Alexa Martin does it again, with Blitzed, book three of the Playbook series. I thought this was the perfect culmination of the series, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading Brynn's story. While the "conflict" portion of the narrative arc felt a little forced and rushed, I appreciated the fact that it was short-lived and came toward the end of the story. I loved Maxwell as a hero too, and think that he had amazing chemistry with Brynn. All of the supporting characters added layers of enjoyment to the story, and I felt completely immersed in their world. Plus, I love a good slow burn, and this book definitely simmers before it comes to a full-on boil.

If you've loved the Playbook series thus far, you'll love this novel. And if you haven't read the series, start at the beginning, and prepare yourself to be wowed.

Out of the three in The Playbook series this one may be my least favorite. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the shit out of it. I love that the Lady Mustangs, the football puns, the hot men, and Denver are common threads in every book and the relationship is the only thing that changes in each. Don't get me wrong I adored big strong Maxwell; I just don't love Brynn. She's been a feature in all three books; owning a hot female oriented bar in Denver and being friends with all the NFL player's wives and girlfriends. Now it's her turn to fall for a football player - but she's not quite ready to be in a relationship. Ever since her mother abandoned her when she was a teen she's shied away from commitment; assuming that true love isn't real. Well she clearly hadn't met Maxwell yet. Steamy, cute, and wonderful. I hope there are a ton more books in this series!

*sings* I nEEDED THIS TONIGHT auGH I love this whole series so much it brings such a light to my whole life. I love the different hot-button issues Alexa explores in each novel and how football is really it's own crazy fantasy world. But most of all I love my ladies. My girls. My WAGS. They are the real MVPs and I'm just so in love with the sisterhood and solidarity in this book especially. The whiteboard scene gave me life and the epilogue with Posie gave it extra meaning. I'm all about this series y'all. I cannot wait for the next one!!

Brynn’s guarded feelings toward Maxwell at the beginning and all her Sass made me love her so much! But when she did finally come around to him, I was a bit shocked that she’d trust Theo before even speaking to Maxwell. I know there has to be drama for a cliffhanger, but the lack of communication there was a bit shocking. I’ve never been disappointed yet with this series, Alexa brings all the romance and then some!
