bad - receptive, a little patronizing, repetive, Winston Churchill fan girl
good - appreciate the examples, the empathy, the actual situational advice, goes well with the other book

Idk this book is all over the place I wanted to read this to understand my parents struggles but the author really just talks about whatever they want and there isn't any cohesion besides it being about mental health and relationships.

The more metaphorical she got the less I connected with the work. The down to earth stuff is 5/5, her explaining what an EI parent feels was eye opening and worthwhile to me. When she starts talking about how kids wont appreciate the work that went into raising them until their 70s or how you can learn patience from your car I didnt connect with those aspects.

A great continuation of the original book - full of useful tips, meaningful insights, and encouragement to not be afraid to fail. A great read for anyone with an emotionally immature parent, coworker, spouse, or family member.

This was very validating to listen to (I did the audiobook version) however some of the descriptions and analogies came off cheesy and a little to dumbed-down for me. Lindsay Gibson has really helped me on my healing journey, but I did not find this work as helpful as her other two books. Perhaps I need to grab a physical copy for a reference so it has a deeper effect. Still worth a read.
2.5 stars. There’s some good nuggets in here. There’s also a ton of overstretched metaphors.
