I really, really enjoyed this book :) Lots of great characters, a plot with twists and turns AND, best of all, the author did NOT get caught up in the usual tropes...I love when characters behave in a believable way, rather than just being forced into stereotypical situations. In one instance, things did get solved a little too easily, but I can forgive the author for that because the rest of the book was so good :)

Dull. Nothing about this was interesting to me after 60 pages, literally 5 pages about thinking about buying a pony. No ta.

I don’t remember where I got that book from and for how long it’s been sitting on my shelf, but I wanted to put an end to it and read it.
This is my first Catherine Alliott novel and I haven’t heard about here before, but the style reminded me a lot of Sophie Kinsella. The story itself is not necessarily new and a lot of happening. Deeper and emotional topics are usually lightened by something funny that happens to Evie. It was really hard to keep reading sometimes, I got to admit. I liked her alright, but couldn’t really connect to any of the other characters. Long paragraphs setting the scene didn’t help either. And in the end, I’m still unsure about the title and its connection to the story line since it doesn’t make sense to me at all.

I really loved this book as it was a good fun read and the first book by Catherine Alliott that I read. It had me laughing out loud a lot and felt very indulgent. The characters are good too.
