I don’t remember where I got that book from and for how long it’s been sitting on my shelf, but I wanted to put an end to it and read it.
This is my first Catherine Alliott novel and I haven’t heard about here before, but the style reminded me a lot of Sophie Kinsella. The story itself is not necessarily new and a lot of happening. Deeper and emotional topics are usually lightened by something funny that happens to Evie. It was really hard to keep reading sometimes, I got to admit. I liked her alright, but couldn’t really connect to any of the other characters. Long paragraphs setting the scene didn’t help either. And in the end, I’m still unsure about the title and its connection to the story line since it doesn’t make sense to me at all.
