I really loved God is Dead and as a result I really wanted to love Currie's new book. The end of the world? What's not to love, especially when I've read so many end-of-the-world books?

You'll ask yourself "does anything matter?" as you read this, because you pretty much HAVE to ask. 90% of the story leads you to think that everything does matter, because the main character ignores the voices in his head, ostensibly saves humanity from destruction, reconnects with the love of his life, and so on. The last 10% - where the voices start on this multiple-worlds track and the main character relives his life in a much happier way - didn't ring true for me. Maybe I took home the wrong message. My message was 'however miserable you are in this life, however hopeless it all is, at least one of your multiversal selves is happy'.

I imagine that everything DOES matter in the repsect that you can change people's lives for the better, but when it comes to extinction-level impacts, you're just screwed.

Every time I was about to quit listening to this book something would happen and I couldn't quit. The story is quite fantastic. How Junior could be born knowing the end of the world is baffling and if you can't accept this, you can't read the book.

I thought the characters were well drawn and I wanted to know many of them better. When things happened to them, I felt hurt or scared along with them. Currie has a skewed view of the world, but I would willingly go along for his next ride. It is bound to be amazing.

For me, the story was even better for the narration, which I liked a lot. It was the narration that sometimes made me want to quit, but that was because it was so good, I had fallen completely into the story.

I recommend this for speculative fiction readers, for people who care about families and their interactions and for those who like to hear well-read stories. This is spellbinding and a bit weird, but I wouldn't have missed it even for the end of the world.

This book is expertly created. At times I wanted to crawl inside it and at others I wanted to run screaming from it. It was captivating throughout.

A genius novel. How would you behave if you knew the world was going to end? I just loved the main character, Junior. There was something in this novel to appeal to almost anyone. I have recommended it to people who might otherwise have never picked it up.

The concept of the book is good. I found it hard to get into it and stay with the characters. It was an okay read but I'm not sure how I felt about the last 1/4 of the book.

This is such an original book! I loved the writing style, the alternating perspectives, and the unexpected twists in the story line. I got lost at times, however this never interfered with my overall understanding of the book's message or my enjoyment of it.
The only thing that I will complain about is the title. This is such a dramatic and triumphant novel, and its title seems to weak to live up to the glory of the plot.
