A really, really good thriller. The story is dramatic from the start, and you're immediately thrown into the action, left with no choice but to continue reading. The pace is quick, and I felt that I could read this book quickly without even noticing how much time had passed. I liked the characters, especially the main two duo, and I think their personalities will be explored further in future books (which I may or may not read). The plot was really good, with some suitably gruesome murders, lots of tension and some high octane moments. The ending was pretty satisfying, if only a tiny bit rushed, including a good twist which I didn't see coming but was pulled off really well. Overall, a really good solid thriller.
My second read of this one and I really enjoyed it, as expected. I was surprised how easily I fell into the story and I must've read it quite a while ago, because I didn't remember who the antagonist was. I love Robert Hunter and Garcia, and this just reminded me how much I love Chris Carter's work. I'm looking forward to re-reading the next installment in this series

This book captivated me on page 1 and held me til the very end. I could NOT put it down. Chris Carter is officially one of my new favorite authors. This was a fantastic serial killer murder mystery!!!…..but I have to warn that the descriptions of what was done to the serial killer’s victims were gruesome and horrifying. This was definitely the worst of the worst in serial killers. But the book engaged me from beginning to end and was a cut above other serial killer books I’ve read. I definitely recommend!!! I actually just ordered 8 more books in this series bc I enjoyed it so much!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'm not a fan of thrillers, but this story is great, I loved it so much that I'm seriously considering buying the sequel.
Holds attention from the first page, and the last... I felt like someone poured a bucket of ice water over me.
My recommendation for anyone who likes good thrillers.
