On voit ici un personnage interesant, fier et persévérant dont la seule probleme, esthetique, l'auteur untilise pour ironiser les atitudes simplistes, l'hypocrisie et la timidité.
Le début est lent, mais de 40% a la fin, c’est vraiment un montagne-russe.
Même si j'ai eu besoin de trois dictionnaires pour atteindre la fin de cette pièce, si vous voulez mon avis, ça vaut bien la peine.

Always my favorite play. I’ve always thought it to be less about the romance itself and more about the damage pride can do to a man—and what devotion can change in a woman. We see Roxanne develop in her understanding of love, even as we see Cyrano disguising his cowardice as integrity. It’s so beautiful and emotional to read. When Le Bret pulls him aside after a particularly angry tirade and says, “Say this to all the world, and say softly to me ‘she loves you not”….. It moves me to tears every time.

I was always going to love this. It's Cyrano de Bergerac. It's a fantastic translation.

Non amo leggere il teatro, preferisco andarci. Tuttavia non ho mai avuto questa commedia a portata di mano, quindi ho finalmente deciso di leggerla.
La prima metà è carina. Purtroppo non riesco a trovare un aggettivo migliore per indicare che sì, è stata una lettura gradevole, ma anche un esercizio che mi sono imposta di portare a termine.
Poi, all'improvviso, mi sono trovata coinvolta sul campo di battaglia, tra giovani affamati ma cortesi davanti alla bella Rossana.
Cyrano è un mago nell'usare le parole, per o contro gli altri. Quando tocca a sè stesso sceglie invece di tacere, condannandosi all'infelicità. Il problema è che vi condanna anche Rossana, tacendole la verità e non dandole la possibilità di scegliere per se stessa. La condizione di Rossana è ottimale: non ci sono più concorrenti, la vita nel convento ne limita i movimenti e le frequentazioni e Cyrano può goderne la compagnia a piacimento. Sicuramente un finale piacevole nella sua tragicità ed ineluttabilità, ma al momento ho bisogno di donne più indipendenti e meno vittime.

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. It was a lot funnier than I thought it would be (at least in parts--obviously it is an overall tragedy).
