This is an interesting little adventure Leia goes on right after the events of A New Hope. With the Death Star destroyed, the Empire is looking for a new way to show their might: by eradicating all people of Aldaaran. It's turned into a full on holocaust. Leia gets word and decides to head out with a snarky rebel pilot who has little love for her princess, searching the galaxy for pockets of Aldaaran peoples.

It's an interesting story as Leia heads to places where her ties are deeper than she knows, and she has to face both her past and future as a princess of a lost world. I loved seeing the flashbacks and as she struggles to figure out what to do now.

I adored this comic. I loved how she had her snarkiness and her moments of vulnerability that had nothing to do with Luke or Han. She almost breaks a few times and is spitting fire others. I loved it, and learning more about a planet most known for it's destruction rather than what it was beforehand. I love how we see different peoples, especially since some have been away from Aldaraan for generations.

It's just a new little story that adds needed depth to the canon Star Wars. It's well done and all Star Wars fans should read.

I liked this graphic novel. Was a quick read. Princess Leia's famous hair was still retained which I liked. Evaan and Leia were a pretty great team. I liked how Evaan went from Your Highness to Leia, and saved her in the end. Still stays in the Star Wars Universe and is very cool.

Not as strong as some of the other Marvel 5 issue arcs, but still a fun story.

This is exactly the kind of Leia story (and outfits) I'm always looking for.

More like 3.5. Generally pretty good and entertaining. I like that Leia gets her own adventure with Artoo, and I like the balance they struck between the different aspects of her character -- the diplomacy, the leadership, the shooting and fighting (though the fighting's a bit more active than we really saw, but that's a "times change" thing, really; you know Leia would be have shades of, like, Black Widow style moves if the movie had been made today). As is often often the case with media tie-in comics, the characters rarely really look like their real-life counterparts. It can be distracting when one panel really evokes Carrie Fisher and the next is just a random brunette lady, but I find that if I approach it as a feature not a bug, it's fine.

Incursão jeitosa pelos intervalos narrativos da trilogia original, fiel ao girl power muito próprio da Princesa Leia (ampla e justamente confundível com sorte altamente improvável). A arte, quando não decai para detalhes infelizes, é muito bela.

The story is fine, but the art is what makes it for me. The curvature is incredible. It seems that the only straight lines occur in antagonistic environments, and that is super cool.

In Star Wars: Princess Leia, Mark Waid protrays the aftermath of the Death Star's destruction of Alderaan. Leia sets out on a mission to gather together all the remaining Alderaanians on various other planets in the hope of establishing a new planetary home base for her people. Waid, as always, gives all the characters believable skills, emotions, and characteristics. Leia is given true depth, demonstrating by actions (rather than sobbing) how important her homeworld and people are to her. R2D2 also gets some wonderful moments here. This story gives wieght and significance to the tragedy of Alderaan's destruction. Bravo!
