This book features a why choose and polyamorous relationship where the dynamic is three men and one woman. The three men, West, Xander, and Zeke are in a preexisting relationship and have been for years. The men have been looking for a fourth person, a woman, to add into their relationship but none of the woman they’ve tried to bring in have lasted longer than the three month trial period. They each meet Lily individually and like her, so they agree to try one more time to bring a woman into their relationship. While I do think everyone relationship had chemistry, I feel at there weren’t enough moments that weren’t sexual, explicitly or with an innuendo, to convince me that they all fell in love (each man with Lilly and Lily with each man). The three men were already in a long term relationship with each other and their understanding of each other, connection, passion, intensity, and love was already secure. The men’s feelings for Lily and her feelings toward them seemed to be mostly based in lust.
Lily’s, the FMC, height was constantly brought up through the usage of the nickname “shorty”; with the FMC being five foot five and the three MMCs being over six feet, the nickname being a reminder of the height differences has a weird vibe. There were a few word choices that referenced the height differences as well which resulted in brief pauses. Those word choices definitely could’ve been replaced with appropriate synonyms.
One of the MMCs, Zeke, was written in a slightly secretive way that alluded to him having darker sexual preferences than the two other male leads. The women the three men attempted to bring into their relationship almost never lasted the three month trial period, sometimes they left after a sexual experience with Zeke, which left him feeling guilty to his partners. But these characteristics lead the reader to believe that Zeke’s preferences or kinks were dark, dangerous, or more intense than some people could handle. The upcoming spoiler tag is also a little graphic, be warned.

I blushed, I laughed, i was in awe and I was pissed.
Lily is a fierce strong FMC. And she has a lot of secrets of her own.
West the boss/the caretaker, Xander the lover and Zeke the enforcer are a perfect balance of needs and pleasure.
I loved that it was a LGBTQA+ relationship.
Sadie does know her job when it comes to spice.

Lily has a secret... well, a few, actually! One is she's dating, not one but three men!
Lily, Xander, Zeke, and West were scorching through this book! This is a character driven story with some plot mixed it.
It was absolutely perfect for the mood I was in!

Overall I really liked this, but I hate the miscommunication trope a lot. However, this plot line was done well and didn’t just feel thrown in for the sake of having a third act breakup and giving the MMCs a reason to grovel. I do wish it wasn’t as abrupt when the FMC agreed to take them back, however.
