This book was so-so to fine, but the line "she had the sort of elf-like face that looked good even without makeup" just pissed me off so intensely and was so unnecessarily toxic that I had to stop. There's no reason to perpetuate the idea that women only look good with makeup, and should never be seen without it or else they're ugly.

“I had waited years for Paul Frost to need something. A cup of sugar. A spare fan. An extra chair. He probably had me beat in the tool department, but I did have a drill I was rather fond of. And I would have let him use it. But this, this was even better. He needed something I was good at, and finally getting the chance to impress him with something other than my knack for forgetting the trash cans had me all bouncy.”

➽  The Geek Who Saved Christmas is the perfect queer grumpy x sunshine romance!! I had so much fun reading it, as the chemistry was off the charts and the characters - Gideon and Paul - were super endearing to me! Both of them have been neighbors for quite some time, but while Gideon is a jolly, friendly guy who's very involved in their neighborhood, Paul is more of a grump. That has never deterred Gideon though, who's just waiting for the chance to get close to him!

I loved that the story featured older queer characters! ❤️  Both Paul and Gideon are in their mid-40s and don't have any big families to spend Christmas with. They can get lonely at times, so it was extra heartwarming to see them spending time together and doing typical Christmas activities. There were steamy, hilarious and also heartbreaking scenes - they all balanced each other out perfectly!
