I feel like there were some missed opportunities here when it came to using tentacles for sex. So. Many. Missed. Opportunities.
Jax was an interesting character and his rescue/kidnapping of Macy was about as complicated as one would expect. Many things were true to facts of life; Macy not being able to live on an all meat diet for example. Their love story was sweet and tender. They also were…. Not the greatest at communicating with each other when they were having problems. They grew both as a couple and as individuals.
The timeline of the book seemed awfully fast for a kidnapping non fated mates story. I would have liked a bit more time for them to come together.

I enjoyed this romance book, I thought Macy was lovely and Jax was a great character. Neither of them really fit in with their cultures but fit with each other instead.
The story was very original and I really had no clue how the two would work out being part of one another's lives and resolve issues like being free to choose one another, etc.
I think I know who the next book will be about - at least I hope I do and can't wait to read it!
