This story is a combination of two classic plot lines I adore: enemies to lovers and sibling’s best friend. Mike is Danica’s brother and Nicole is her best friend. These two are like fire and ice, unless they are between the sheets, or on the desk, or in the car – well, you get the picture.

They have their hang-ups, they have their bad exes, and sometimes the two of them overlap. But what I really loved about this story was how the author has taken her plots and subplots to a whole new level with the added suspense. We saw a bit of that with the previous book, but it was most certainly an added bonus in this installment.

Mike was probably my most favorite hero to date. Though dubbed a player, he’s really a sensitive guy, and family man. Though he wants Nicole, the fact that she may think their relationship is nothing but a game makes him pull back. Fool him once….

Now, about that little teaser with Ben. Oh my, I’ve been anxiously waiting to find out more about the bar owner we all love and feel sorry for.
