Okay, so not only am I now a small town romance girlie, I’m also uprooting my life to go and live in Sparrow Falls?!

Oh my days, this absolutely melted my dark thriller heart, I never expected a romance series to become one of my favourites, especially after only one book. I’m gutted that this is the second from last, but atleast I have the previous books to binge.

I loved getting to know the characters, the Colson clan is one that I want to be a part of and am looking forward to getting to know all their back stories.

The slow burn of Trace and Ellie’s romance was the perfect build up and mixed in with that we have dangerous characters and twists.

First want to thank Catherine and her team for allowing me to read this early💕

This is book 5 in the Sparrow Falls series and it was also one of my most anticipated book this year.

I’ve been waiting for Trace’s book since Frangle Sanctuary and he did not disappoint! his background is so sad but he found love in the Colson family.

Ellie is my girl she went through so much and had to change who she wanted to be at young age to survive but when she moved to Sparrow Falls she found herself and Gremlin and Bumper plus she finally got her rainbow🥹

Keely my sweet sweet girl you are the best🩷

Catherine I kinda want a Gabriel and Leah book now😇

4.75⭐️/ 3🌶️

Throughout the series of Sparrow Falls, I’ve seen the Colson family together, but namely how each Colson sibling found love. This one wasn’t any different except we saw, Trace Colson, a.k.a. Sheriff and single dad to the most adorable little girl, Keely, and Ellie, Lincoln’s sister finding her way to Sparrow Falls for a fresh new start. Now, this book wouldn’t be a Catherine Cowles one without some romantic suspense, some twists, and danger lurking in the background. Ellie’s fresh start was full of hope and wanting to live her life as she always wanted and not according to her father or ex-fiancé. With Ellie finding her footing in town, some people weren’t as welcoming to her, and it seemed someone from Ellie’s past wasn’t willing to let her go. This story illustrated how Trace and Ellie found themselves forming a relationship as they went from neighbors to lovers. With plenty of suspense, romance, found family, and some lighthearted moments, this was another great story to read.

The thing I LOVE about Catherine Cowles’s books especially with this series is the found family, romance, and heartwarming bonds the characters share with each other. Each book has given me a range of characters, emotional backstories, and even some lighthearted fun in between all the suspense and danger happening.

Trace was always the one abiding by the rules and needing to maintain control in every aspect of his life. With the arrival of, Ellie she shook things up in Trace’s life in a much colorful and fun way. Getting to know Trace on a deeper level as well as knowing his backstory from before he was adopted by the Colson’s was heartbreaking and sad. Everything that I learned about Trace made me see why he needed that control for such a long time, but also, made me appreciate him more. Even in the beginning of the first few chapters, my heart immediately adored Trace and how hard he tried being the best dad he could be for Keely, and despite his struggles with doing Keely’s hair, he never gave up and was just the best dad all around. This book really sold me on Trace and my goodness, he had me swooning and loving all the sides of him from being over protective, strong, thoughtful, and a man who knew how to care for those closest to him (sniff) such a beautiful man!

Awww Ellie was literally like a ray of sunshine and rainbows! Ellie found herself being in Sparrow Falls from falling in love, being welcomed into the Colson family, and most importantly letting herself be true to who she was. In the previous book, with it being on Ellie’s big brother, Lincoln, we got to see some glimpses of Ellie and what she was dealing it before she came to Sparrow Falls which alluded to her living a life that was controlled by her father, and fiancée at the time. Seeing Ellie in Sparrow Falls, she got to live her life as she wanted. Whether that meant living her clothes on the floor, bumping 90’s music and dancing around in her, or even painting a giant rainbow mural, Ellie did whatever she wanted which was great. Even as Ellie was faced with danger by someone targeting her, she still found moment where she enjoyed herself which I thought was an important part in her overall journey. Despite what was going on in Ellie’s life and even Trace’s, she didn’t let it hinder her from trying to move forward and live happily as she always dreamt of.

I genuinely love the series, and this book was another great one! I honestly didn’t expect to love Trace and Ellie this much, but with Catherine’s writing and bringing Ellie and Trace to life with such vibrancy and joy, I love them! Once again seeing the rest of the Colson family made me happy (and always does!) crazy to see how each member of the family has come a long way from the previous books. Each character in this series was once again a part of the book, and seeing them alongside Ellie was sweet and I loved seeing the different dynamics between them all! No matter how many times I try to follow along and theorize who I think is the one behind everything, I’m always stumped, and end up being surprised at who’s actually the bad guy. Catherine never disappoints with leaving me with a good plot twist, intrigue, and all the pieces coming together. Trace and Ellie were put in some dangerous situations, but nevertheless they had help from plenty of people, and even a certain someone who has helped occasionally…DEX THE HACKER! AND WE ACTUALLY GOT TO SEE HIM IN THIS BOOK! All I can say is, I’m so freaking excited to read Dex’s book in Catherine’s newest series coming later! (Sigh) all in all, this was a great small town, romantic suspense with an equally great grumpy/sunshine romance that made me LOVE TRACE AND ELLIE! YAY! Highly recommend!
