It’s interesting reading this book in the immediate aftermath of the Climate Strike by schoolkids... It’s a fun adventure with a cool premise but it feels a little scattergun in its approach but the exploits suffered by Logan and Jessica are definitely affecting, especially when considered in the context of such a thin volume. It’s that rare story that might be less effective if it were longer.

This book felt very rushed. The story became episodic chaos.

Very interesting book. Fast read, completely different and better than the movie.

I like a pulp sci-fi novel as much as the next guy, but this is true schlock. A solid plot can't help the truly dreadful writing, even by the already low standards I expect from this sort of thing.

All of Logan's Run goes something like this: Oh no, something bad is about to happen to Logan, but then it doesn't. Oh, another bad thing might happen to Logan and then it doesn't. Look! Another problem that could easily kill Logan is here, but he kicks it in the face and now it's not a problem anymore. Oh, some other bad thing might get him this time, but no, it doesn't.
Meh.

The movie too so many of the concepts of the book and mashed them into one city that it is almost as if they are unrelated.

If you enjoyed the movie reading the book will show you how much they missed or pared down to fit filming budget and time constraints.

I've been a fan of the movie Logan's Run for many years. I had no idea it was a book until fairly recently.

Set in the future, the Earth can no longer support human life. A food shortage and a brief but bloody war results in the introduction of a harsh population control measure which ensures no-one lives past the age of 21. To escape this fate many people go on the run in search of the fabled 'Sanctuary' these desperate fugitives are hunted by 'Sandmen' futuristic police who hunt and kill runners.

The book is excellent, quite different from the film in alot of ways. The book is short at less than 200 pages but the story is detailed and interesting. It's quite a page turner and not easy to put down. The story flows at a quick pace and keeps the reader interested

The authors ideas for the future are interesting and the backdrop to the story keeps you guessing.

I really didn't see the ending coming and I have to admit it was a clever stroke however I do prefer the ending of the movie.

All in all this is destined to remain one of my favourite science fiction stories, a brilliant effort.
