okay I am a HUGE Elsie Silver fan and have read the entire Chestnut Spring series and am halfway through the Rose Hill series. I know that this is her first series, but I just didn't love it as much as I did her other books :(. Do not get me wrong, I did enjoy the book. It was cute, fast paced, and the main couple was sweet but otherwise, this did nothing for me. I didn't connect with the main characters or the town in any way, not the way I connected with CS/RH. I *might* continue the series if I can find them at my library or once I get kindle unlimited again. I will say that the only book I would be interested in reading is Violet's book, since she is the sister of the main brothers in CS.

I enjoyed the FMC. She had sass and charisma. I also enjoyed that she did get all mushy over the MMC just for his money. This was my first cowboy type read and I enjoyed it! My daughter and I enjoy watching racing, it was fun to see the “behind the scenes.”

No spoilers. Read via physical (library) and kindle unlimited.

This was a cute ranch romance. I loved the dynamics of the FMC and MMC. The spice was good and the storyline was so good. I was pretty invested when I knew I was going through the emotions of this book. This is my first Elsie Silver, and I’m glad I’m starting here.

Would I recommend? Yes, I cannot wait to read more in this series!

Not sure what was worse: the main characters names being Wilhelmina and Vaughn, the lack of chemistry between them or the fact that i expected it to end in any other way than a marriage proposal (spoiler alert, it didn’t).
Also, i found it misleading that this book is categorised as enemies to lovers. Neither of the main characters had enough personality to be enemies or lovers.

horse racing isn’t my typical cowboy romance but this was a cute foray into something different. i’m imagining a jamie from yellowstone rather than rip or kayce. kind of too long but the last 100 pages is a prequel novella.
