I thought the illustrations in ONE Very Big Bear were very beautiful, but the story itself is lacking. Rather than actually counting up the animals it just lists one over and over, but luckily for us the storyteller at our local library managed to make it very engaging despite this (I would have given it a higher rating because of her as she did make it much more enjoyable, but the book itself wasn't the best!).
