Stephen King's pandemic novel - written originally in 1978. I read the "extended" version - the original that was later cut for publication, and then re-released as the whole book. It's a doorstop for sure. The pandemic part was oddly a great guess - now having lived through COVID. However, so many people have died, and technology was wildly different back at that time. Not even sure you could raid stores anymore for CB radios, but useful when the power goes out and batteries are available. A whole different world. I wanted to love this book, but it's that old school SK that includes a bit of horror and supernatural stuff - weird dreams, a battle of good and evil, etc. That ruined it for me. But, glad I read it anyway - it's a classic for a reason.

I've been read Stephen King since high school but the stand holds up with enough 2020 relevant moments. Read it out loud with your boo.
