Slow start for me but once I found my footing I fell in love with Spindle Cove just like friends told me I would.

There were moments I found the characters infuriating and some of the language was repetitive but I did enjoy it.

I was so excited for the Spindle Cove series and I adore Tessa Dare so I went into this with high hopes. Unfortunately, the male main character and the rest of his brood of men are so misogynistic and hyped up on toxic masculinity in a way that made it impossible to read. Maybe I’ll come back to spindle cove one day but this book is not it for me.

I wanted to reread some Tessa Dare, and I remembered liking this series overall, but I’m not sure this one held up on reread. I thought the setting was entertaining, liked that the leads were both strong, and appreciated aspects of their relationship like the way they both pushed each other. However, something about their instant connection followed by contentious relationship was a bit much for me. I also ended up finding the guys versus girls battle they set up more annoying than entertaining. I just don’t think this one was for me, and I am hoping some of the other ones will be. 🫂👥🌧️
