I did find the book a bit slow right after the blind date dies, but it does pick up more after we learn more/interact with the bride. Also I liked the ending for the most part, but I wished
they didn’t wrap up the Ah Guan’s murder like a story, but instead liked they framed someone idk
. Also Meddy and Nathan are so cute. I lowkey can’t wait for the movie so that I can see
Jackie and Maureen together and their wedding

This audiobook was such a fun time to listen to! It was super funny, had a fast pace, had a really smooth second chance romance, and the four aunties plus Meddy were just the best MCs ever!!! Highly recommend. I already put the second audiobook on hold on Libby.

 was really looking forward to reading this. Zany, madcap mystery with Indonesian-Chinese aunties. 
Maybe it's just that I so dislike the trope of " none of this would have happened if anyone actually talked!"
I understand that Sutanto was trying to capture the culture of "anything for family" along with the idea of cultural and familial pressure,  but really? 
Yes there was love there, but so much disfunction!
The main character was super immature and didn't function/think as an adult.

I love the family of women and how Meddelin’s confidence grows by the end. the barrage of obstacles they face with the wedding and hiding the body are fun to read about, and the pages fly by so fast. I also like that, while this is a rom-com, the romance isn’t the main thing—the aunties are. as they should be.

I really enjoyed the plot of this book, and I think I'd read another, even though the writing wasn't my fave. It was very conversational, which is totally accessible and fun and makes for a nice relaxing read. It's just not as much my jam. But I love a good love story, and I really liked the peak into this very female-driven world.

I’m so glad I enjoyed this! I do have to say the start of this was rough for me because I didn’t know where this was going and I didn’t like the flashbacks, but once we got into the plot, it really picked up and the Auntie’s were just so funny and the best part of this book. This made me laugh so much it’s really enjoyable, but it’s just a slower start.

Fun writing and paced really well. I had lots of fun but also felt like something was missing. I love her Aunties
