I thought I was going into a good fun time - buuuuut I just found it hard to disconnect from the reality of things.
SpoilerFor example: Instead of saying to yourself "EWWW dead man - why would I check his pulse?" perhaps say "The man that was a bit of a creep but might have died but I could SAVE MYSELF A FUCK TON ON TROUBLE BY JUST DOUBLE CHECKING HE's ACTUALLY DEAD". For real. WHY WOULDN'T YOU CHECCCCCKKKKK

There are moments of the family dynamics that I quite enjoyed & reminded me of some other stories I've read with strong family involvement (like Helen Hoang's series & Kevin Kwan's Crazy Rich Asians) but that didn't redeem it enough for me to get past some of the really simple things that would have solved the overall 'issue'. I understand that without that initial tension there would be no story so I guess I can't complain?

I tried I really really tried like I'm in all in kind of girl I don't read multiple books at a time I devour books whole usually in a day or two but after a few chapters I set this down I was like I'll try again later the next day I read a few more chapters got annoyed set it down again and now it's been 5 days of a few chapter at a time and I just can't anymore like I know it's supposed to be silly but I can't get over
them not checking to make sure he was dead they noticed he was WARM for God's sake and still proceeded with the plan of stuffing him in an airtight container like come on
I also kinda didn't like Meddy she made the strangest choices like she wouldn't leave California out of guilt fine but she didn't feel guilty lying about leaving the country to visit her secret boyfriend's parents? What if something had happened? They literally didn't even know where she was! Idk it was just weird
