This has to be my fave In Death addition so far, I love how the futuristic aspect is brought to the forefront a little more, seeing both Eve and Roark's ghosts come poking up.
Eve is investigating some suicides which she thinks may be murder, some really bone chilling chapters and complete head twirlers, Unlike the last book i reckoned on the killer from the beginning and how they were working the murders, but in a way it made it more infuriating in a good way, although the usually quick Dallas takes a while to put the pieces together.
Peabody seems to be in the books alot more now, i really love how the author pens out so many fascinating individuals its brilliant and the plot WOW!

I love the voice in this. All the characters have such unique humor it makes this so fun to read. The synopsis unfortunately kinda spoiled a large aspect of the mystery, but it was still well crafted. The style is also very strong; I love a gritty, intense mystery.
I... didn't enjoy this book. Not really.
It started interesting... the idea that the killer was staging 'suicides' to stall the investigation was intriguing. Sadly, the case didn't stay interesting. The killer was kinda obvious to me right from their first appearance. This wasn't too big of a problem, but since I got more and more annoyed while reading, it started to bother me. And the reveal with the final confrontation wasn't that exciting either.
My biggest problem is the concept of mind-control that's used here. It could have been interesting, but ... I don't know how to explain it... it didn't feel realistic to me (like the other "future" stuff and technology does) and then ... there was a scene that totally repulsed me. Maybe I'm too sensitive, but I was bothered by it. It was sort of necessary for the plot, but I wish it had been done differently or that there had been another way.
I'm also starting to get annoyed by Eve being personally involved in Every. Single. Case. Can't there be a case where she has no connection to the victim or the suspects or the killer? Just one?
This book only gets 3/5 stars because it was easy to read and because I enjoyed the interactions between Roarke & Eve and Peabody & Eve. I almost rated it 2,5/5 or even 2/5, but didn't because there were parts I liked.
