I didn't care for a single character in this book, or their messy family drama. I just wanted it to end. I found it incredibly boring. I'm all for an unlikeable protagonist as long as they're interesting. A character tells this protagonist something along the lines of, "You've never stuck up for yourself in your life," and that about sums it up.

The only interesting character in the book was the
delightfully weird and mysterious Daphne
but we only get glimpses of their life - I'd rather read an entire book from their perspective.

This book has a lot of twists and turns and will keep you wanting more.

This is told from the perspectives of Emma and her sisters Juliette/JJ and Daphne. We get both “now” and “then” with the story being told quite a bit out of order.

I didn’t love the ending. It felt too convoluted for me. I get what happened, but it felt like I got led in circles.

Also, am I the only one who was shocked that Chris wasn’t involved? I was highly suspicious of him.

Overall, a decent little whodunnit with unreliable narrators and suspicion all around.

Thank you NetGalley and Flatiron Books for a chance to read and review this eARC.
