This was a really good mystery/thriller! The information provided below can all be found in the book description, so I will not be hiding it as a spoiler.

The FMC’s (Emma) parents were murdered when she was a teen, and she was the prime suspect. She didn’t do it, and is worried one of her sisters did but doesn’t want to know. They all lie to protect each other.

Years later, the sisters are estranged. Emma is married with a baby on the way, when her husband loses his job and the house they were planning to buy, along with their savings. As a last resort, they move back into Emma’s childhood home where her parents were murdered. The sisters return, worried what Emma may find. Secrets are exposed as Emma tries to figure out what really happened to her parents.

I really enjoyed the mystery and intrigue of this book. It was well written and had me staying up late to get to the conclusion. I liked the multiple POVs, and that it alternated between past and present to give the full story.

I saw another review that summed this up pretty well… no one can know, not even the reader when this book is over! I love a good psychological thriller, but this one fell pretty flat for me. I was intrigued in the beginning, but figured out who did it for pretty early on. The middle dragged on and the ending was so convoluted and anti-climactic in my opinion. So, upon further reflection, maybe this is more of a 2.5 for me than a 3…

First BOTM of the year, done! And what a great one.
No One Can Know is the second book I've read of Kate Alice Marshall's, and I enjoyed it even more than the first.
Emma, Juliette, Daphne - then and now.
The Palmer sisters lost their parents to a shooting in their childhood home while having a sleepover in their treehouse.
The town of Arden Hills, in residents' collective minds, suspected Emma was guilty.
When Emma returns to the stately home with (repellent, yuck) husband Nathan, secrets will not stay in the past.
This is one of those thrillers where I suspected everyone at one time or another, but the reveals still ended up being twisty and surprising.
 Recommended!

For me It didn’t really pick up until about halfway through when some of the secrets start having answers, before that I just felt bombarded with questions and it was hard to keep track. After that there were just enough seeds to start really putting the pieces together, but not enough to prevent me from being shocked.
For example, I did not put together Nathan’s affair or him getting ready to dip, but in hindsight the foreshadowing was there!

I also felt like this is a rereadable book to look for foreshadowing, near the end I noticed an awesome use of chekhovs gun that I wouldn’t be able to miss if I reread it, it would change the whole interpretation.
For those interested, it’s the bridge with the gap in the guard rail Nathan almost drives into.

I really loved Juliette’s perspectives and overall the bouncing between “then” and “now”, although the timeline of “then” confused me a bit sometimes. Would definitely recommend giving it a read if you want to try and figure it out, I’m semi-new to mysteries like this and I’d say I was about half right with my predictions.
